Composer/pianist Martin Fondse is renowned for his humorous, narrative and personal style of composing. Nowadays, he’s one of the most in-demand composers on the Dutch jazz scene. Fondse collaborated with van Schaaik on the award winning film VENT resulting in an award for best soundtrack at the Espinho Filmfestival and an award for best music in Neum, Bosnia Hercegovina.
The PHANTOM recordings were made at the Orgelpark in Amsterdam. Martin’s majestic ouverture as well as the wonderfull credits tune was performed on three different church organs. Together Martin and Erik recorded the ‘horrible’ grammophone tunes at Martin’s floating home studio.
